Arnold Schwarzenegger has done many things. Emigrate from Austria, become a body builder, become a movie star and make millions of dollars, become governor of California, and marry a Kennedy. Now he can add another thing to his list: get divorced.
The 25 year marriage of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver will come to an end as they announced their divorce on May 9th, 2011. Some may see their long marriage as a shock, but their marriage was full of issues.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger announced he would run for governor, he chose to run as a Republican candidate. Now if you know anything about the Shriver, her mother was the sister of Robert and John F. Kennedy, both Democrats who were assassinated and died for their country. This decision infuriated Shriver, leaving her feeling betrayed by her husband. However she had no other choice but to support him in his campaign.
Schwarzenegger left office January 3, 2011, and announced his divorce this May. From my point of view, it looks like they kept the marriage going just to get through his time in office before calling it quits.
