Lady Gaga's "went bankrupt" Due to Tour

Pop sensation, Lady Gaga, launched her world tour, Monster Ball, in 2009 and she has been currently touring for that past two years now. Since Lady Gaga is known for her extravagant and outlandish antics, her tour was no different. Her lavish stage sets, costumes, and production cost left her bankrupt, well if you count $3 million as bankrupt for Gaga. She could easily earn that back with a simple single release.

In an interview with Stephen Fry for Britain's Financial Times, Gaga says, "I put everything in the show, and I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of The Monster Ball. And it was funny because I didn't know! And I remember I called everybody and said, 'Why is everyone saying I have no money? This is ridiculous, I have five number one singles.' And they said, 'Well, you're $3 million in debt.'"

The Monster Ball Tour grossed a total of $224.4 million to date, so I doubt she has too much to worry about.

Memorial Day

Some look forward to it for the long weekend, and others do for sales at their favorite stores. But Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is celebrated to commemorate the American soldiers that have fought for our country's freedom. So while we get excited about not having to go to school for a day, lets not forget what this day was truly about.

Oprah's Last Hurrah

The long era of Oprah's daytime talk show is now over. :(. Oprah's last talk show was aired on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 after a tearful episode. Although, this will not be the last we see of Oprah, her television channel the Oprah Winfrey Network, (OWN) is on air now.

Although through the success of her own talk show, the OWN channel is having a hard time getting a viewer base, having the new channel be somewhat unpopular. Maybe its because creating an entire news channel surrounding one person is a little hard...

Winfrey has had an insurmountable amount of successes in her career and this television channel is another extension of it. I cannot wait to see what the future of the Winfrey business will create next.

Beyoncé "Inspired" by Italian Pop Singer

Was Beyoncé's performance of "Run the World (Girls)" at the Billboard Music Awards a copy of Italian pop singer, Lorella Cuccarini, who gave a very similar performance last year?

The similarities between the two performances can clearly be seen, but Beyoncé is no copycat, since she was "inspired" by the work rather than copying it, which is similar to how Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" was "inspired" by Madonna. As long as you are "inspired" by something then I guess it is fine if it looks exactly the same, except with better graphics.

She tells AOL Music, "My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much. I then met with the talented people who worked on it. The technology and concept were so genius."

I said, "Yes, yes, yes"

Amy Winehouse, "Rehab" singer, recently checked into rehab due to her alcohol addiction. Winehouse, wanting to get clean (once more) in order to prepare for her European shows checked into The Priory under her father's advice. He felt she was drinking too much again.

But the singer did not go without one last drink. While going to the rehab clinic she stopped at Meadway Food and Wine in order to get a miniature bottle of Smirnoff vodka, which she drank before entering the clinic.

I guess rehab doesn't start until you are there.

Kim Kardashian is Engaged!

Kim Kardashian is finally engaged! For those who watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim has expressed her concerns multiple times if she was ever going to get married. It looks like her fears can be left behind her.

Kardashian engaged to New Jersey Nets player Kris Humphries on May 18th after a proposal at her Beverly Hills home. Humphries waited in her room on one knee with the words "Will You Marry Me?" laid out in red rose petals, while holding a 20.5 carat diamond ring. Awww....

The newly engaged couple had been dating for 6 months prior. Kardashian was most known for her long relationship with NFL football player Reggie Bush until the couple split in March 2010. So far her engagement seems like a fairy tale ending. We'll see how it goes, but best of luck for now.

'Gaga' over Amazon

Monday, fans of singer Lady Gaga, known for her unique fashion statements and interesting catchy song lyrics, were pleased to find out that Amazon was releasing her new album 'Born This Way' for $0.99.

It seemed all too good to fans until Amazon crashed from extreme popularity and 'over load' in the buying of the extremely cheap cd. Gaga's new album consisted of radio hit songs "Born This Way" and "Judas"

Due to the crashing of the website, many buyers did not receive their album immediately and ended up leaving low ratings for the CD. Most of the low ratings were directed towards Amazon and not Lady Gaga's CD itself.

This left 'Born This Way' with a total of only 3 stars on the Amazon website. Many people left comments of anger towards the website and the complexity of the procedure. iTunes still holds the number one position in the market for digital music.

No Longer Living the Tokyo Dream

Katy Perry, 26, was in Japan for her concert tour wanted her husband, Russell Brand, to come see her perform in Tokyo. She claims that Tokyo is one of her favorite places, therefore when her husband was deported she felt that her "Tokyo dreams" were crushed. Well at least she still has her teenage dreams.

The strange thing was that Russell Brand was deported for a crime that happened over 10 years ago, which she shared again through Twitter. Although the crime was not revealed, it had to be something serious for it to follow him for so long and to be banned from the country.

But in the end, everything is fine since Brand, 35, has already planned his escape, which he revealed via Twitter.

A Royal Hat

The Royal Wedding a couple weeks back was a change, for some, to show off their choices of style to the world.

One of the most noticed outfits of the wedding was Princess Beatrice's large hat that most have dubbed to resemble a pretzel, an octopus, and to some, a toilet seat.

With much talk and notice, Princess Beatrice sold the hat recently on Ebay for 132,000 dollars. That is a lot of money to spend on a hat... The hat was designed by Phillip Treacy.

Princess Beatrice donated the money to UNICEF and the British charity, Children in Crisis.

"Its great to see the turn out and attention the hat has brought. Its also great to use the attention of it to donate to a charity," Beatrice stated.

The stand-out shape of the hat even inspired a facebook group to form. In my opinion, if just wearing a hat can make 132,000 dollars, then more famous people should wear hats.

Tour de' Steroids

World Class Cyclist and winner of the Tour de' France, Lance Armstrong, has recently been accused of having used energy boosters during his competitions in the past,

Lance Armstrong amazed many people around the world with his abilities and 'natural' talent in bicycling. He started off winning small races and worked his way up through training to win the biggest cycling race in the world; the Tour de' France. Not only did he win this event once, but seven times.

Three of Armstrong's former team mates admitted having used the drug EPO, an energy booster that forms more red blood cells in the body, testosterone, and a blood transfusion. They have stated that Armstrong did the steroids with them before races.

Armstrong denies ever having used any substances, claiming he has never failed any of the hundreds of drug tests given to him. It has been stated by Tyler Hammilton, one of Armstrong's team mates, that he did fail one in 2001 right before the Tour de Swiss.

Armstrong's well-loved stories, and legend are still in fan's thoughts, and most hope for the investigation to come out negative.

Women's Fragrance by Bieber

Justin Bieber, teen sensation, will now be launching a women's fragrance, "Someday". Apparently he hopes to become closer with his fans by making them smell better. Who wouldn't want beautiful smelling fans, right?

He made a smart move, since no normal man would ever touch a Bieber scented anything, well I hope not. But the good thing about this fragrance is that apparently all proceeds will be donated to charity.

As long as he doesn't use it, then I guess its fine. But who knows? Maybe he wants to smell like "fruity gourmand" too.

And Now Another Season of "The Bachelorette"

Monday May 23, 2011 marks the debut episode of the next season of "The Bachelorette" starring Ashley Hebert who previously was on Brad Womack's 2nd season of "The Bachelor". She was sent home after letting her emotions and hesitancy get the best of her. Now she's back to find love...

If you aren't familiar with "The Bachelorette", a group of 25 men fight for the bachelorette. Each week men get eliminated until one man is left standing. However, the majority of Bachelor/Bachelorette couples end up breaking up despite their displayed love on the show. Will Ashley find her husband on the show? Only time will tell.

New Pirates Movie: $90 Mil 1st Weekend

The fourth movie of the series, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides", raked in $90 million its first weekend in American theaters, and $256.3 million worldwide. It is also the first "Pirates" movie available in 3D. As a person who always said that sequels were not as good as the originals, the "Pirates" series is an exception to the rule.

This movie features Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbossa who embark on a quest to find the fountain of youth, while only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too. This film features new cast mates like Penelope Cruz playing Angelica, and Ian McShane as Blackbeard,

Selena Gomez Loves Pink

Pink Horses?! Any little girl's fantasy.

These pink horses were sighted at Selena Gomez's new music video shooting. Her love for pink transcends that of an average teenager girl, since she even needs horses to be painted in her signature color (even though I am pretty sure that is Pink's color).

Pink even tweeted about the fact that it was stupid to paint horses pink for a music video. She even pointed this fact to animal activist.

Gomez's reps later announced that it was a non toxic, vegetable based powder paint, which could easily be removed with water.

Even if no actual horses were physically harmed in the process, one can always question if this is morally right. After all I do think it is demeaning for the horses, unless the humans in the music video are painted pink as well.

Sperminator

Well, it seems like after Schwarzenegger left the office of governor, a lot of dirty laundry of his has been let out to the public. First it was his divorce to wife Maria Shriver, and now word has been let out that he has fathered a child out of wedlock. Tisk tisk, governator.

Schwarzenegger admitted on Tuesday that he impregnated a woman on his household staff ten years ago while married to his wife Maria Shriver before he ran for governor. This story has been described as one of the most outrageous in a long time.

This came as a shock to many, but I cannot help but say I told you so when you elect a former movie star as the governor of California. Although Hollywood is a huge part of California, I don't think that the entertainment industry and politics should ever mix.

Back to Bedrock

Fox recently announced the re-making of the old tv series the Flintstones in the fall of 2013. The new series is being re-made by the creator of the Simpsons, Seth MacFarlane. Macfarlane that he has always been a fan of the Flintstones and has always wanted to reproduce it.

The new series will be basically the same for old fans, but take on a new twist. Keeping up with modern inventions like the cell phone and and the Ipod, the new series will make stone age versions of new and popular items.

The new series will be produces with coordination between Warner Brothers and 20th Century Fox Television. The new series will bring back all old beloved characters like Fred Flintstone, Wilma, Pebbles, Bamm Bamm, Barney, Betty and of course, Dino the Dinosaur.

The Flintstones, for those who don't know, is an animated comedy series about two families living in prehistoric times in the town of Bedrock.

Donald Trump is No Longer Running for President!

In our previous post we stated that Donald Trump would be running for President of the United States, but it seems that this 64 year old business magnate, who previously poked jabs at Obama's birth, has decided after much "difficulty" to withdraw from being a potential Republican candidate.

I question why this real-estate titan would drop out when he believes that he would win the election. He even stated to the press that, "If I were to run, I would be able to win the primary, and ultimately, the general election." I cannot wrap my mind around that the fact that he thinks he is going to win, yet drops out. If you knew you had a strong chance of winning then wouldn't you go all in?

A "Crazy Lunatic" of a Tour

It has been made official that singer, Nicki Minaj will join Britney Spears on her upcoming tour. Minaj has been scheduled to replace Enrique Iglesias and to join with a few other artists. I find it quite disturbing on what is classified as "music" lately. In my opinion, Nicki sounds very much like an animal on auto tune and Brittney sounds like a nasally little girl.

This tour will consist of "Britney's visions and ideas that excite her" according to Spear's manager, Larry Rudolph. It's kind of scary to picture what excites Brittney... Even Minaj claims that joining this tour is her being a "crazy lunatic as always."

Besides my personal criticizing, many fans of both Spears and Minaj are excited to see this tour. Minaj herself added how she is excited to see Britney singing and on stage. The coordination between the two will match and bring to their fans exactly what they want. Even if it is awful to people with taste in music, at least some people will enjoy it.

Privacy in Reality TV?

Reality TV star, Heidi Montag, has decided to return to Reality TV, what a surprise. She previously made stints in both the film and music industry to expand her career and be more than just a reality TV starlet, but it did not fair too well. I guess having talent is important to success, well sometimes. But in the end she always has her home turf to turn to, reality TV. The difference this time around will be that Montag plans to keep her life “more private”. The problem is that in reality TV it is practically impossible, after all you are fishing for attention most of the time since drama sells and filming is constant.

Her new Reality TV project will greatly differ from her past Hills lifestyle. Her new role will be in VH1's Famous Food, which she and the rest of the cast will try to launch a new restaurant. This program may greatly differ from The Hills but that does not mean it will be anymore private.

The Jersey Shore Takes on Italy

When people go to visit Florence, Italy, they come for the beautiful architecture, Renaissance art, gourmet food, and high fashion. But some people of all things come to see... The Jersey Shore?

One University of Indiana student went on a study abroad program to Florence to see the Shore cast mates as the cast continues their season 4 shenanigans in Italy. The cast has already racked up $375 in traffic fines for driving in a pedestrian zone and running a red light.

Many Italians wonder why the cast members can't just get out of Italy, saying that they're a disgrace to Italians and are trashy. But regardless of the controversies, the Jersey Shore cast is the most watched show on MTV, even if it is for their trash, drama, partying and drinking.

Charlie Sheen Replaced With Ashton?

Yes, it has come to the time where the infamous Charlie Sheen of "Two and a Half Men" is to be replaced. Obviously the rants and obscene comments to everything that breathes wasn't enough to get another contract signed..

Ashton Kutcher is to be Sheen's replacement on the hit TV series and while most people are joyous, some hopeful individuals are not. Upset at former directer Chuck Lorre, Sheen 'tweeted,' "Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there." I feel like someone might be bitter over having lost his job. Sheen obviously can't help but being a "winner."

On the contrary, Sheen's ex co-star, Jon Cryer claims to be looking forward to a new start with Kutcher and that he will miss Sheen. Will Sheen really be missed? I feel like it will be more relieving to know someone with 'tiger blood' is no longer amongst you.

Will Smith's Trailer upsets New York Residents

Will Smith, the lead of Men in Black III, has disturbed New York residents. His trailer, which is massive in size, has caused these locals to complain to city officials. Although the officials deemed that the oversized trailer was not violating any laws.

This over the top trailer consists of a lounge with a bar, a movie room with a 100-inch screen, a full-service kitchen, a large bedroom and all-granite bathroom a lounge with a bar. But no home on wheels is complete without an attaching gym trailer.

I think the reason why these residents were so peeved was the fact that Smith rented a five-bedroom apartment, less than a mile away. But I guess hotel rooms don’t bring the comforts of home.
